Me with a recently processed collection

Welcome to my webpage! Here you will find my thoughts on anything related to archives or things that just strike me as interesting. I just began my professional career and want to track my projects, activities, and thoughts on the archival profession. Plus, I love to talk about my job, so this gives me an outlet, which my family will be very thankful for!

As far as a bio of me….

I’m Nicole. I graduated from Michigan State University in 2005 with a B.A. in History with congnats in Women’s Studies and Anthropology. In 2006, I graduated from Wayne State University with a MLS and a Graduate Certificate in Archival Administration. I’m currently taking classes at Lansing Community College in web administration and database management.

I have worked as an archivist at the Archives of Michigan for the past 3 years.  My main tasks include scanning, uploading, and creating metadata for our digital collections.  Currently, I am working on a grant to digitize all of the Archives’ Civil War manuscript materials.

I love the archival profession because it allows me to combine my passion for history with my interest in technology.   I plan to fuse the two together to create my career as a digital archivist.
